2013 is the Year of Paddy’s Tournament

Poker players looking for a way to win big and have some fun in 2013 might want to have a look at Paddy’s Tournament.

This poker tourney is from Paddy Power Poker and the Irish betting firm announced that it will be a year long tournament with a total prize pool adding up to a handsome figure of €100,000.

The idea behind Paddy’s Tournament is to find the company’s best poker player and every week throughout 2013 the players who play on the Paddy Power Poker site will get ranked on the frequency of their games and how well they play. The multi-table tournaments and sit & go’s will be taken into account for this calculation.

Weekly and Monthly Winners

The 7^th of January is the start date for this tournament and each week in the year will see a leaderboard produced. The top 30 people on the list each week will win some money, with the top dog getting €100. There are also Monthly Leaderboard points given out to the top 100 names on the weekly list.

Once the Monthly Leaderboard is produced then the top 75 players on it will get more than €2,000 to share out amongst them. The top name on the list will get €500 all to themselves. This time, the top 150 players on the monthly board will get 150 points towards the Yearly Leaderboard.

Once the Yearly Leaderboard is defined the top 200 punters on it will get to share €50,000 between them. The grand winner will get a package with lots of cash, a blog and even a chance to formally open the 2014 Irish Open.
