Responsible Gambling

Casino Reviewer is for adults aged 18 and over. Gambling should be entertainment, paid for from money you can afford to lose. It is not a way to make money or solve money problems, and no review, ranking or bonus on this site changes that.

Our role

Casino Reviewer is an independent review site and not a gambling operator. We do not take bets or hold player money. We may earn a commission when you follow a link to a casino and become a customer; read our affiliate disclosure and review methodology. Gambling businesses must hold a UK Gambling Commission licence to offer gambling to people in Great Britain, and you can check any operator yourself on the Gambling Commission public register. Some of our older reviews cover casinos that have closed or are not licensed for the UK; those pages say so at the top and are kept for reference only.

Keep it fun: simple rules

  • Decide how much time and money you will spend before you play, and stick to it.
  • Only gamble with money you can afford to lose. Never use money meant for rent, bills, food or debts.
  • Never chase losses. A losing run does not make a win more likely.
  • Do not gamble when you are upset, stressed, lonely or have been drinking.
  • Take regular breaks and keep gambling to a small part of your life.
  • Keep track of your deposits. Most UK operators show your history in your account.

Warning signs

You may have a problem if you:

  • spend more time or money on gambling than you meant to;
  • find it hard to stop, or feel restless when you try to;
  • chase losses, borrow money to gamble or hide gambling from people close to you;
  • feel anxious, guilty or low about your gambling;
  • argue with family or friends about gambling, or miss work, study or other commitments.

If you recognise any of these, stop and talk to someone. Gambling harm can affect anyone, and help is free.

Tools that help you stay in control

UK-licensed casinos offer safer gambling tools. Look in your account settings for deposit limits, time-outs and cool-off periods, reality checks that show how long you have been playing, and self-exclusion from that operator.

To block yourself from all participating UK-licensed gambling websites and apps in one go, use GAMSTOP, the free national online self-exclusion scheme; you choose how long the block lasts when you register. You can also install blocking software on your devices, such as BetBlocker or Gamban, and many UK banks let you block card payments to gambling sites.

Under-18s

It is illegal for anyone under 18 to gamble in the UK. If you share a device with a young person, use parental controls and keep your accounts and cards secure. Casino Reviewer does not knowingly target under-18s.

Complaints

If you have a problem with a casino, complain to the operator first. If it is not resolved, the operator must tell you which approved alternative dispute resolution (ADR) service you can use. For comments about this site, use our contact page.
