Internet Poker Figures Pick Up Again
With the recent dramatic rises in internet casino playing it has been something of a surprise to see internet poker figures fall in recent weeks.
In fact, last week was the first time internet poker traffic has increased in two months. The previous eight weeks had each brought a fall with them and industry experts were left scratching their heads at the low figures.
However, last week saw 90% of the top sites increase their traffic and the overall jump in activity by 2.8%, according to PokerScout. Some of the top online poker sites had increases of more than 5%, while PokerStars was the overall winner in terms of visitors.
Scott Seiver Wins Giant Poker Prize
Meanwhile, the Party Poker Premier League V has just been won by Scott Seiver. The win gives him a giant cash prize of half a million dollars as well as direct entry to this year’s WPT Championship.
The final was a head to head between Seiver and Dan Cates, which was finally settled when Seiver won with the river card. For coming runner up Cates still walked away with a more than pleasant prize of $300,000. Third place was scooped by Phil Laak, who won $175,000 while Patrik Antonius got $125,000 for coming in fourth in the event and fifth placed Tony G got $100,000. There are a number of big poker tournaments lined up for this year so there will be a lot more chances for the game’s big names to get hold of big money prizes.
