New Study Shows How More Women than Men like Online Poker
It has been clear for some time that the internet is having a profound effect on the gaming habits of players all over the world. Now the latest evidence has come from a study carried out by the rather grandly titled Lloyd D Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospital and Tourism, which is based at Richard Stockton College.
Their research was based on the northeast region of the USA and covered residents of the likes of Washington DC, Boston and New York. They used a sample of 3,000 people and found that 40% of the ladies were fans of online poker, compared to only 13% of the males questioned.
Younger Players Attracted
When it comes to the age of the player a quarter of those under the age of 30 liked the idea of playing casino games online while with those aged between 30 and 49 this figure dropped to 10%. It seems apparent from this that younger people are more inclined to play in an online casino, and this seems to back up the evidence which we are seeing in the UK just now as well.
Just a few years ago those numbers might have seemed a big strange. After all, who ever heard of women being bigger fans of poker than men until recently? However, the growing popularity of online casino sites is opening up this type of game to a much wider audience. As a result of this it seems that women all over the world are giving online games a try and discovering they are safe, fun places to spend some time every now and then.
