Brazen Armed Robbers Steal $180,000 from Caesars Casino

An audacious robbery in Caesars Casino occurred today as two masked gunman held the well-known gamblers haunt to ransom. This didn’t occur in Vegas though, this took place in the Atlantic City branch and signals yet another upset for the city.

The brazen robbers entered Caesars just after 6 a.m and at least one of them produced a gun. They then seized two plastic containers of cash, believed to contain upwards of $180,000 (£105,000). They then made their getaway 20 minutes later in a car.

New Jersey State Police Gaming Bureau are investigating the case which is a good indication that the robbery did in fact take place on casino property (otherwise city police would be heading up the investigation).

This is the latest in a long run of bad news for the once glittering Atlantic City. Trump Plaza and the Showboat casino have both announced their imminent closure in the Autumn. The Revel, one of the newest casinos in the city, has just filed for bankruptcy for the second time since 2012. All-in-all times are not good!
