The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is an independent advertising regulator based in the UK. They make sure that all the advertising codes written by the CAP (Committee of Advertising) are followed stringently. Their work includes looking into complaints filled by the public, and of course regularly checking all media outlets for any breaches.
As online gambling has grown in popularity, it has also become more widely advertised. There has always been strict gambling related UK advertising codes; however, they are rather complex, which has led to some companies breaking codes, and not even realising it.
