Britney Spears Starts Two Year Vegas Residency

On Friday the 27th of December 2013, Britney Spears kick started her two year residency at Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas. The new show is called “Britney: Piece of Me”, and will include a staggering 23 of her hit songs throughout a 90 minute set.

Britney is rumoured to be paid a staggering $300,000 per show, with her being contracted to do 100 shows up until the end of 2015. This works out as a $30 Million deal across the two year period.

The first night was a hit with the audience, who mainly stood and danced along with the pop star throughout her performance. Britney was also supported on her opening night by some of her closest celebrity pals in Planet Hollywood’s VIP section.

Even though Britney’s new show was described as a “larger-than-life production” by MTV’s Sophie Schillaci, some critics believed that Miss Spears was once again lip-synching, when the show was advertised as being a live performance. Britney’s management has since denied the lip-synching and has said that she simply sang against a pre-recorded track for some of her higher energy songs.
