Gambling Habit Lands Account Manager Two Years in Jail
Leigh Jones from Saltney was hired as a Cyscap account manager back in February 2011. The position was highly paid with a wage of £24,500 a year, plus commission. In Fact throughout 2011 Mr Jones managed to earn a whopping £113,000.
To begin with he was a highly regarded member of staff who was thought to be hardworking and trustworthy; however, the truth was that he had developed a gambling habit and was stealing money from Cyscap’s various different customers by transferring their funds directly into his bank account.
This behaviour carried on for a couple of years and was not picked up until Mr Jones was on a £7,000 cruise with his family. To begin with Cyscap thought he had only stolen £18,500; however, over time they found that he had transferred over £129,614.37 into his own personal account.
Mr Jones is now serving 2 years in jail and his wife has since left him.
