Scientific Games Completes 1.5 Billion Acquisition of WMS

Back in January 2013, Scientific Games announced that they would be acquiring WMS for $26 per common share, which worked out as a staggering $1.5 Billion takeover. Less than ten months later and the acquisition of WMS have been completed.

Thanks to the merger, Scientific Games has now become one of the leading companies in the gaming industry. They are now able to offer their global clients a larger portfolio of products, as well as the expertise of some of the world’s best gaming and lottery professionals.

If you haven’t come across Scientific Games before, then they are a leader in the global lottery and regulated gaming industry. They have over 40 years experience, and were the first company to create an instant lottery game in 1974.

WMS Gaming was formed in 1943 and was responsible for creating the tilt function on Pinball Tables. In recent years they moved into online gaming and are famed for their great variety of table and video slot games.
