Monte Carlo Casino Celebrate 150th Birthday in Style

The famous Monte Carlo Casino has just celebrated an important milestone in the form of their 150th birthday.

The Monte Carlo Casino was the original inspiration behind Ian Fleming’s first ever James Bond novel entitled Casino Royale. This isn’t where its association with 007 ends though, as it has also served as a filming location for ‘Never Say Never Again’ featuring Sean Connery as Bond and Kim Basingar as Domino, and of course Goldeneye, which featured Pierce Brosnan and Izabella Scoripco as the sexy and smart Bond Girl.

Prince Albert II of Monaco and his beautiful wife Princess Charlene were present alongside a host of international guests this weekend, to help celebrate the Casinos 150th birthday. They were treated to a 10 course gourmet dinner and a performance by the brilliant Dame Shirley Bassey, who is the only person to have recorded three different James Bond theme songs.

This weekend also kick started the beginning of the annual Monte Carlo Casino ‘Sporting Summer Festival’, which will run until the 19th of August. This festival will consist of performances (Elton John, Rihanna, Alicia Keys and Bryan Ferry etc), events, shows, exhibits and some mouth-dropping firework displays.
