The 888Casino Champion of Champions Snooker Tournament Announced

Fans of televised snooker will see a familiar sponsor’s name on the new Champion of Champions tournament later on this year.

Online betting firm 888Casino has revealed that it is going to be the main sponsor of the tournament, which is going to run from the 19^th to the 24^th of November in Coventry. The deal was thrashed out between bosses at 888 and Matchroom Sport, which is the company which runs the tournament.

Competing in the Champion of Champions event will be the 16 champions from throughout the current season. You will be able to see the tournament on ITV4. In terms of prize money, out of a total of £274,000 there will be £100,000 set aside for the eventual winner. 

A “Perfect Fit”

Itai Pazner is the Senior Vice President at 888 and he said that the firm is “excited” to be able to carry on supporting and investing in the world of snooker. He went on to say that the match between their 888Casino and this “prestigious snooker event” looks like a “perfect fit” in terms of both the brand and the customers. He concluded by saying that they will be using the exposure which being the sponsor brings as “an extension of the entertainment experience” to be found on the 888Casino site.  

Meanwhile, Barry Hearn is the chairman of Matchroom Sport and he said that they are also very excited about having 888 onboard. He stressed that this is an entirely new tournament on the snooker calendar but that the betting company have been involved in this sport before.
