Asian Casino Convention Held in Booming Casino Resort of Macau
The booming gambling centre in Macau is the scene of this year’s giant Asian casino operator’s get together which is going on right now.
The event is known as Global Gaming Expo Asia and runs for 3 days at the classy Venetian Macau Hotel.
This convention is where the casino industry gets to show off its newest games and technologies and there is a space for the public to go along and see what they can expect to see in their local casinos in the near future.
The casino market is Asia is growing fast and Macau is right at the centre of it. In fact, this former Portuguese enclave now makes 6 times as much money as Las Vegas does, with big earning Chinese gamblers turning it into a money spinning casino resort in recent years. However, the Asian gaming market has other strong areas too, with Vietnam, the Philippines and Singapore all planning on big resorts to woo high rolling players to their countries.
The event is organised by the American Gaming Association and their president is called Frank Fahrenkopf. He said that that the area has “tremendous growth”. He went on to say that the addition of new facilities add to the “dynamism and attractiveness” of Macau for visitors.
Overall, there are 130 firms exhibiting in this show, which has been going on yearly since 2007. It is said that the types of game on show this year are largely focussed on those which would be expected to appeal to mainland Chinese gamblers.
