Losing Punter Wins Big at Poker

When the Microgaming Poker Network launched their bad bat jackpot you could have been forgiven for wondering whether you would be better of hoping for a big win or a series of losses.

Well, the defeat for a punter at Stan James Poker means that we can already see how much money you can win by being unlucky at poker on the internet.

The winner is called Peter and he is from Rochdale in the UK. The bad beat jackpot he won was worth over €370,000 and he won it in the evening of the 19^th of March. His lucky defeat came when he got a straight flush but was edged out by a rival who had a more impressive straight flush on his screen.

Everyone Wins a Lot Except the Winner

The winner of the hand walked with less money than everyone else in the all important game. This was partly due to the fact that the winner didn’t opt in on the game, which left then with a relatively minor prize of €81 instead of the possible €185,000 which would have been theirs if they had opted in. Meanwhile, the other punters who were playing the game and who had chosen to opt in all got a healthy total of more than €47,000 paid out to them.         

The lucking winning loser (or losing winner?) said that he had been waiting for the bad beat jackpot to get launched again as it is now within his playing budget and also easier to win. He confirmed that it was a life changing win for him.
