Merge Poker Network Loses Two More Skins
The Merge internet poker network has lost a few skins in recent times and now word has come out that another couple have gone.
The ones which no longer exist on the network are Iron Duke and Overbet, which have both now officially shut down.
Notices were sent out from the people at Overbet saying that the skin had been sold to someone else but that the balances in player accounts are completely safe. The player notification from Overbet suggested that the punters who had used this skin now sign on with a different Merge poker skin in order to keep on playing.
No VIP Points or Level Carry Over
One of the biggest stumbling blocks to getting players to transfer over to a new Merge site is that they won’t be able to take their levels of their accumulated VIP points with them, which is a fact which is sure to disappoint a lot of punters who have been playing away on the closed sites for a long time.
As regards the Iron Duke site, there was no concrete reason given for the place being closed but they also suggested that their players look at some of the other Merge poker skins such as Sportsbook, Carbon Poker and PlayersOnly.
These skin closures follow on from the closing down of other sites in the Merge poker network such as RPM, Black Chip and Hero Poker, which all left the network at the end of 2012. Only time will whether the loss of skins will carry on into the rest of this year.
