Entraction and Rank Group to Put the Emphasis on Social Products
The internet betting firms Entraction and Rank Group Plc have confirmed that they have agreed a licensing deal which will run for a couple of years and will let Rank use the GameShaper+ platform from Entraction in order to put out social oriented products.
The deal means that Entraction will look to move their UK licensed games with a social slant onto Rank’s social media platform. They include the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, while the X Factor Role Playing Game will also make the move.
Andy Rodgers is the Managing Director of Entraction and he said that the new deal represents an “exciting extension” to their already established relationship with Rank. He said that they will be working together in “both a product and platform capacity”.
More Mobile and Facebook Games to Come in the Future
Meanwhile, Lee O’Donovan is the Head of Social and Mobile at Rank and he said that the company needed a platform which would allow them to quickly deploy multiple projects with just one data management point. The firm is also looking forward to releasing future games and products “across mobile and Facebook”.
In other news, the Rank group announced that mobile revenue was up by 172% in the last 6 months. The period reported was for the second half of 2012 and the overall group revenue increased in this period by 5%.
