New York Apple Announcement Prompts iPad 3 Betting Spree

In just under a weeks time technology giants Apple will take to the stage in New York. Pundits, technology journalists and geeks around the world are speculating on what the conference will unveil. Some are so confident in their thinking that they are placing bets with online bookmakers Paddy Power.

The hottest tip at the moment is that Apple will announce a new hoard of educational materials, digital textbooks and resources for the iPad and OSx. At the time of writing Paddy Power were giving odds of 1/6 that the announcement would be around educational textbooks. 

At the opposite ends of the spectrum is the Apple Robot Teacher. The boffins at Apple could pull off a major upset if this bad boy is announced because odds are currently set a 40/1 - basically a bad bet by anyones standards. This won’t stop tech lovers around the world speculating and hoping that the announcement will be hardware related. 

iPad 3 Bets Paying Well

The iPad 2 came out in March 2011 and many people feel the next one will be launched in the same month in 2012. That could mean that Apple may unveil their next generation tablet early, it’s unlikely as that would stifle iPad 2 sales somewhat but this hasn’t stopped Paddy Power placing a moderately probable 6/1 on an iPad Lite and 9/1 on the iPad 3 being announced. 

Other possibilities include the launch of an Apple iTV (16/1), an updated iMac (14/1) and the announcement of the iPhone 5 (20/1).
