William Hill to Sponsor the Scotland Football Team

The recent trend for gambling firms to get involved in football sponsorship deals has seen williamhill.com team up with the Scottish national team. The deal between the Scottish FA and William Hill has been agreed initially on a two year basis.

The internet betting company is also the sponsor of the William Hill Scottish Cup competition, as well as being the official betting partner of the country’s top football league, the SPL.

Scotland’s first game on the road to the 2014 World Cup Finals in Brazil is against Serbia. William Hill has made the Scots 11/8 favourites. The draw is as 9/4, while the Serbians can be backed at 6/4.

The Chief Marketing Officer of William Hill is called Kristof Fahy, and he said that it is “really exciting” to be involved with the Scotland football team. As for the SFA, a spokesman said that William Hill has already “shown a strong commitment” to football north of the border, with their sponsorship of the Scottish Cup and the betting partnership they have with the SPL.

As part of the deal William Hill will be able to use things like branding, hospitality and exclusive Scotland team images.
