Facebook to Host Its First Real Money Game
The moves to bring internet wagering to Facebook are gathering pace now, and the first finished product will be with us shortly.
The online games developer Gamesys has been working on the issue and has revealed some of the details we can expect to see once it is up and running.
First off, it has been revealed that the new games application will let British players gamble with real money on the Facebook. However, the people at Gamesys have also pointed out that people under the age of 18 won’t be able to take part.
The first Facebook game to be released by Gamesys is called Bingo Friendzy and anyone who wants to give it a whirl needs to log in using their email address and their home address, rather than just using their Facebook details.
Your Friends Can See Your Activity
An interesting touch is that your playing activity will be visible to your friends, although any of them under the age of 18 won’t be able to see it. A Facebook spokesperson said that they have had no official involvement in the design of the game and that it wanted to move into the UK’s “mature and very well regulated” gaming market. They also said that real cash gambling will be on the agenda for social media gaming company Zynga in 2013, which already offers free casino games to its users.
At the moment the Facebook real money gambling option is only going to be available in the UK. As well as bingo, there will be internet slots games added in the near future as well.
