12 Year Old Gambles Away £7000

 The need for tight control on internet casino sites has been reinforced with the news that a 12 year old boy run up a massive gambling bill on the internet.

The youngster who got a taste for wagering is only 12 years old and comes from Liverpool. During his gambling spree he spent over £7,000 of cash belonging to his dad, according to the recent story in the Liverpool News.

It seems that he first found out about the pleasures of playing games on the internet when a friend at school taught him how easy it is to download them to a smartphone. After playing against his friends and doing well he decided to give it go with real money at stake.

To do this he asked his dad to let him use his credit card to buy something online. After this he began to use the card to register in online casinos and make bets.

The Card Got Declined

After just a week the 12 year old had managed to work his way through the incredible sum of £7,000, as he dug himself into a hole trying to win back the cash he had already lost. How did his dad find out about this? Well, he found out when his credit card was declined for being over the limit.

The player’s dad said that he was “screaming and shouting” at his credit card company as he didn’t know how his card could possibly have been declined. A new charity called Prevention Town is going to start up in Liverpool to try and show other youngsters the dangers of getting carried away with online gaming.
