Justin Timberlake in Internet Poker Movie

Fans of online poker games and of movies have got a treat coming up soon. In fact, those who are also Fans of Justin Timberlake will have a third reason to look out for the film called “Runner, Runner”.

The movie is about internet poker players and filming is about to start in Puerto Rico. It seems that Timberlake ends up gambling away his college funds while playing poker online. He then comes up with the idea of setting up a dodgy internet poker site to make money.

To do this he heads to Puerto Rico with his friend, who is played by Ben Affleck. Gemma Arterton will play Timberlake’s girlfriend in the film.

A Strong Team

The director of the film is Brad Furman, whom movie buffs will know as the man behind The Lincoln Lawyer from last year. The screenplay comes from David Levien and Brian Koppelman, who also wrote Rounders, which was a 1998 effort about poker playing.

Runner, Runner promises to look at the world of offshore internet gaming and it seems the relationship between the two lead characters deteriorates as they attempt to build up their online poker empire.

The role will be another step in Justin Timberlake’s attempts to build up a strong acting CV. His recent performances in The Social Network and In Time have gained a number of positive reviews and it seems as though he is going to have a long career in the movie industry. Affleck has moved into the directing role in recent years, although he still finds time to take on acting roles such as this one and the one in the self directed 2010 drama The Town.
