If you don’t like to get pestered with lots of adverts and emails from betting firms and online casino operators then the new advertising rules for gaming operators in the UK could be just what you need.
The UK Advertising Standards Authority has just revealed that a new set of rules which cover the internet casinos and other online gaming operators in the British market will protect the public to a greater degree than ever before.
Under these new regulations opt out wishes need to be taken into account by advertising firms. This could have a big effect on the market sector which is targeted by wagering firms on the internet.
The Sites You Visited Were Previously Used As Information
An example of how they currently work is that the internet browser will capture the information about the different sites which someone visits. This means that betting sites will have a better idea of the sort of wagers which the punter could place on their site.
Guy Parker is the CEO of the Advertising Standards Authority and he said that this change to the legislation will give “greater awareness and control” and will work at “demystifying” the process of how advertising firms make sure that they send out relevant advertising material to people. He said that it would also allow the people who object to what they receive to “say stop”. He confirmed that the Authority will “be there” to ensure that the companies who run these advertising campaigns don’t break the rules.
