Tom Brady Wins Poker Open in Dublin

The 2012 version of the Boylepoker International Poker Open in Dublin has finished, and it was won by a chap from the other side of the border. The final 8 players got together last weekend for the last showdown, to decide who would walk away with first prize. In the end it was Tom Brady who got the glory.

Brady is originally from Northern Ireland, although he now lives in Plymouth. Brady went into the final day of poker action in Dublin as the favourite and as the chip leader. The odds on him winning were quoted as 7/2 and while he lost the chip lead to Darren Millar at one stage he still went on to win the Open in style with some strong, consistent play.

A Big Cash Prize

His cash prize is a cracking €42,530 and of course he also now has the prestige that goes along with winning such a major poker event. Darren Millar ended up in second place and went home with a little over €30,000, while Emmett David landed the prize of €21,605 that came with a third place finish.

In term of the final chip standings, Brady had 3, 210,000. Well over 1000 poker players took part in the Poker Open in the Regency Hotel in Dublin. The total prize pool was a massive €229,600. The event ran at the end of October and the big, international field was reduced to the final 8 competitors for the final table in the tense closing states, which were streamed live on the site at Boylepoker.com.
