Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is a classic card game which you will find at many different online casinos. It is a touch simpler than some of the other popular online games, but it is well worth taking a look at the rules before you start.

What you want to do is get a hand with the value of nine, or as close to this figure as you can get. Your hand is judged against the dealer’s equivalent. When you or the dealer get either eight or nine with the first two cards no more are dealt and the winner is decided at this stage. You can either bet on your hand winning, the house hand winning or on a tie being produced

How Does It Work?

First up you need to place you bet; your own hand, the casino’s or a tie. After this is done you and the dealer will each receive two cards. The cards are delivered with the values showing. As mentioned earlier, if these first two cards total eight or nine that hand is immediately classed as being dealt and a winner is declared.

If both hands have a value of anything other than eight or nine then you might get a third card. You will get one if your hand’s value is lower than five. When it comes to an extra card for the dealer the rules get a little complicated here but to honest everything is automatic on the internet baccarat games, so you don’t really need to know the exact dealing rules to get started.

Once all the dealing is done the hand closest to nine wins. If you get more than nine the first digit is removed, so twelve becomes two. Online baccarat differs slightly from land based versions but the general mechanics of the game are the same.

Choosing a Baccarat Game

You might come across variants such as the French version of baccarat and mini versions. In reality, it is such a simple game that any version you find should be easy to pick up.

You will probably want to stick with one of the big name casinos, and perhaps you will also want to look for one which allows the size of bet you are most likely to be interested in making. Apart from that, there isn’t really a lot more to look out for.
